Head of Product

I am what you’d call a “third culture kid”.. I grew up between Kuwait and India before moving to California for university, where I studied Applied Mathematics. I then moved to London for my first job as a quant at Goldman Sachs. While there, I stumbled across the discipline of Product Management in technology and decided that working in smaller, tech-first companies was my true calling.

I currently work as Head of Product at Kaluza, an energy technology company. I lead product development for an intelligent energy management platform that shifts energy consumption of appliances like electric vehicles and heating systems towards times of lower electricity demand and higher renewable generation, thus helping to decarbonise the electricity grid. 

If 10 years ago someone told me that in 2020, I’d be working as a Head of Product for an energy technology company working on electric vehicle charging: I’d likely have responded with statements like “Are electric vehicles really going to take off that fast?” or “What even is a Head of Product?!”. And yet, a series of career moves prompted by constantly reflecting on what I wanted to do, curiosity for different industries and tectonic shifts in the technology and renewable energy industry led me here. While I’m very fortunate to work in a problem space that I am deeply passionate about, there were a lot of unexpected turns and influential mentors along the path that got me here.

In my spare time, I love to travel, cook and read.
