Alastair
Responsible Digital Business Lead
Having previously worked in professional services, I moved to the charity sector two years ago. I currently lead a campaign on responsible digital and responsible innovation at Business in the Community, the responsible business network, as well as managing our relationships with various technology-based businesses. Fundamentally, this work aims to ensure that the way businesses are innovating and using digital technology serves society and protects the environment. Over the last year, for example, this has included designing and developing a new campaigning strategy, building key external relationships with business and public sector partners, and presenting our work to universities, conferences and Government contacts.
I have a Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College London, and spend much of my free time working with other charities and beneficial organisations. For example, I’m currently Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees for a start-up community charity in London, am a member of the Advisory Board for a responsible innovation lab, and am co-founding my own social enterprise.
