Patrick
Monitoring and Evaluation Manager
I've spent around five years in total working for different charities in a number of different roles. I currently work as a Monitoring and Evaluation Manager for Frontline, a social work charity that seeks to improve the lives of vulnerable children.
I lead a team of four to collect and use data to help our organisation do the best it can. This includes using social research methods (including statistical analysis) to identify how to improve what we do, and also to prove that what we do has an impact. I also manage our CRM system (Salesforce), and I'm responsible for information security.
I also have experience working in policy and research, in which I conducted research to support and influence government and policy-makers. Before that I was a secondary-school maths teacher, having completed the Teach First Leadership Development Programme
I have an MA in Educational Leadership from the University of Warwick, and a BA in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the University of York. I'm also currently completing an online course in machine learning from Stanford University.
What I can help you with:
Writing CVs/applications, preparing for interviews
Understanding different types of jobs and roles in data, social research methods, policy and generally working in the not-for-profit sector
Learning technical skills to help stand out at interview - anything from Excel, through to statistical programming (in R or Stata). This could also include social research (design, methods - both quantitative and qualitative), data management, CRM (Salesforce) management/administration/development
Learning basic mathematics to prepare for online tests etc.
