Acquisitions and Project Accountant Manager

I was born in Iraq and moved to the UK when I was 12. I obtained First Class degree Accounting and Finance at Oxford Brookes University which included an industrial placement year at Xerox Corporation.

I’ve always taken an interest in finance and the business world, and wanted to pursue a career that combines numbers with the business world. Thus, I pursued a career in Audit and qualified as an ACA accountant with UHY Hacker Young a top 20 Accountancy firm based in London.

After qualifying, I moved to PwC whereby I worked within their growing Treasury department as a Treasury Manager. I’ve recently left PwC for Bloomsbury Publishing PLC and joined their finance team as an Acquisition and Project Accountant Manager where I get involved in their acquisitions of other businesses.

My main passion in life is travelling and exploring the world. I’ve travelled in South and Central America, Europe, South East Asia and Australia. I also enjoy staying fit and healthy through running, cycling, gym and playing football.
