Resh
Director of Strategy and Education
I currently work as the Director of Strategy and Education at UK Anti-Doping - an arms length government body, established to protect clean, drug-free sport. This involves working with national and international stakeholders, educating athletes and those around them, communications and running events. It’s a really interesting mix of work, giving me the chance to work with a wide range of people.
I read Economics at university and then went on to join the Grad programme at the FSA (now the FCA). It was very interesting in the aftermath of the financial crash but I realised financial regulation wasn’t right for me.
I then spent three years working in Parliament - 1 as a researcher to a Baroness, where I also worked for an organisation called Women2Win, and 2 as an Economic Advisor to an MP. I absolutely loved my time in Parliament - it’s one of the most inspiring and energetic places I’ve been, with a different challenge, and opportunity to help people, every single day.
I moved into the private sector as a strategy consultant for three years after that, as I wanted to gain experience in the private sector, and learn how to develop long term strategy and how businesses such as Facebook, Sky and the BBC operated.
I moved to UKAD as I wanted to feel like the work I was doing made a difference to improve society - and I get to do really interesting things like hosting a conference to talk about Sport as a tool for good.
For the past 7 years, I’ve offered public speaking training - mainly to politicians and MPs - and am keen to support people in their efforts to speak and present.
I stood for Parliament in 2015 and 2017. They were two of the most challenging, but most rewarding things I’ve ever done - and I’m hoping for third time lucky!
